Trips creating memories and friendships that last a lifetime. Covering the European campaigns of the 1990’s and early 2000’s. ‘You should write a book’ they said, well I have!

A Leeds European tour, France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Russia, and Ukraine there were games to be played, trips to be arranged and stories to be told.

This book is a must read!

About the Author

Growing up watching the Revie team and supporting Leeds home and away since the 1970’s.

A member of the Harrogate Branch of the Leeds United Supporters Club, a former secretary founding the branch in 1982.

In 1975 for the European Cup Final, travelling twice to Paris with his father, first via train to buy tickets and then on Pynes of Harrogate Coaches to attend the game. Dave clearly caught the European football travel bug.

An organiser of many trips for the lads, Rouse Tours (as they became known) were not linked to the club. This allowed for longer stays abroad and a better chance of having a good trip away with nights out and plenty of beers.

Congrats to Dave Rowson on his new (first) book. It covers our European games and promises to be an excellent read, bringing back memories of the Glory European Nights / Days and the not so glorious mornings afterwards, severe steaming hangovers, complete mind blocks, terrible flashbacks and prison cells…. Various branch members have supplied Dave with some “select” pictures from the old days, as has Dougie Kaye (they are definitely HIS photos!) and Dave has procured some from other sources as well. For those of you who don’t / can’t remember those days, it will be a useful guide to help you fill in the blanks. For the ones who are too young to have been there – this is how it used to be before cheap flights. Think yourselves lucky that if / when we do get back into Europe, you’re never going to be sat on a coach for 19 hours just to watch Leeds.

In his book, We’re Not Leeds We Are Leeds, Dave aimed to tell the stories of what it was like being there when United mixed it with the elite of European football.

Rather than a review of what happened on the pitch, the book highlights the people, the situations and the “daft things that happen” following your team abroad.

Forty years later, Dave still follows his club home and away and says he will continue to do so when fans are allowed back into stadiums.

But, why and how does he do it?

“I grew up doing it and it is what I do. It gets in your blood, it gets in your system.

“I can almost imagine never not doing it. A lot of my best mates I have met through the football and it’s like a community and a family.

“You have some right laughs and it takes you away from everything. Whatever troubles people have had, they go to the football and it gets it out of their system.

“I’ve known some people for 50 years watching football. There’s nothing better than it for me, a day out with the lads and a laugh.”

Works really well. The pre filter captures so much dust you can really tell it's working as it should. The screen shows how dirty the air is and you can watch it go down as it cleans, didn't think we would need that but it's been surprisingly satisfying to see the quality visually. Very quiet on the lowest setting, easy to sleep with.. gives a nice white noise. The highest still isn't bad, the volume is similar to like a normal tower fan. Design is nice, it's a good looking machine. The only negative would be how bright the small display screen is at night but we just cover it if needed. Haven't tried the oil extract diffuser and probably won't. Works very well for cigarette smell! I'm sure if we had two it would completely remove the smoke smell. Overall would definitely buy again.

I've read some bad reviews on the sound, but its something you don't hear when tv or radio is on. It really sounds like having a fan on. I would recommend this for the price. MOOKA Air Purifier Rocks!

I put my Mooka Air Purifier through a very hard test running it 24 hours a day 7 days a week 30 days in a 275 sq ft area so I could provide an accurate review. My husband and I have a dog, woodburning stove, our 115-year-old is close to the road and there is a limestone quarry across the street; our house is extraordinarily dusty. We noticed an improvement the very first day using our Mooka! The nighttime setting is silent so I was able to use it all night. When we’re in the room, we use settings 1 or 2 and can watch TV. When we are out of the room, we use setting 3. Setting 3 can be loud but that is okay, I need that extra power and it does a fantastic job. My Mooka is lightweight, easy to use and a compact workhorse. Another fantastic feature is the highly effective, affordable replacement Hepa filters that have a washable foam pre-filter. I paid under $80 for our Mooka and it is worth every penny. We are ordering a second one. The proof is in our air quality at home. Tried to upload photos of the filter, but could not, sorry!

This Thing WORKS!!!

I have to rave about the quality and the "intelligence" of this product. When I first got it, I installed it in my kitchen along an exterior wall, about 25' away from cooking appliances. I noticed within the first week that the air in our house smelled much cleaner and overall fresher. It was a noticeable difference. We live right next to a gravel road, so there is constantly dust floating around. We notice far less dust in the air as well. The purifier was very easy to set up. I was originally looking to purchase a more expensive brand to match the smaller purifier I own but this one was on sale, considerably less expensive than the one I had my eye on. I decided to give the mooka a shot and I was highly impressed. Being a smoker, I was just looking for something to help a little with air quality, I was not expecting this thing to completely filter all the air in the room, removing all the smoke and leaving behind completely pristine, clean air in 30 minutes! As I was smoking, the purifier automatically kicked into high gear, did its job and returned to the near silent setting. Awesome! The machine displays a number that corresponds with the current air quality and a light that changes from red to green, depending on the amount of particles in the air while the fan speed runs accordingly. This feature works well, smoking, cooking or anything that releases particles will instantly be detected. The build quality is on par with the more expensive unit that I have but honestly, I prefer this machine, regardless of price! During normal operation, you can barely hear it but it does get louder when the fan ramps up. On it’s higher setting, it is as loud as a box fan on medium speed and when the mooka goes max speed, it matches the sound level of a box fan set to high speed, if that helps.
