UZ Vortech/Paxton Supercharger Bracket Kit “Tiger Shark”

The Adapt Lab “Tiger Shark” bracket aims to bring what the market has been missing for a while: A quality complete bracket kit to mount a Vortech/Paxton supercharger on your UZ engine. While many other kits are more expensive, more prone to heat soak and produce hp numbers that are lacking, this kit brings more value in a better package. Bolting onto all UZ engines from 1UZ non-vvti to 3UZ vvti, there is no way you will be left out.

Designed from the ground up for the highest belt wrap possible. Beating any previous or current supercharger setup available for the UZ family of engines. This kit achieves 220-240 degrees of belt wrap. This drastically reduces the possibility of slip which is not attainable with any other kit. No point in going with a setup that is doomed from the beginning, so we built in hard adjustment points to allow moving an idler closer to the supercharger pulley as the pulley gets smaller in highest boost setups.

Even with the high strength stainless steel bracket being 6lbs, we still achieve a roughly 25-27 lbs total weight with the bracket and the Vortech blower (Vortech V3 Si was used for the weight) making it the lightest supercharger kit offering ever. Being that this bracket mounts the blower low in reference to the engine, you can assure that the weight is well placed. We took care to precisely machine the spacers for the supercharger with an accuracy within .05 mm, we guarantee proper alignment with the rest of the drive system on the engine. This level of accuracy allows the idlers to be put closer to the supercharger pulley without causing weird loading that can cause the belt to come off.

Superchargers love longer runner lengths. This tends to be a point that does not get talked about enough. While many see longer runners better for low end power hurting peak performance, this is a benefit when paired to a supercharged engine. Why bring this up? The UZ family of engines has historically long runners on the intake manifold so an intake manifold change most likely is not necessary to reach your power goals when you choose a centrifugal supercharger. This allows you to spend money elsewhere where it is needed. If a top mount supercharger is used with an aftermarket intake manifold utilizing very short runners (typically under 3 inches) this will reduce overall power, force you to run more boost creating excess heat and most of these setups with the positive displacement blowers will not net over 400whp even with over 10 psi of boost. Positive displacement blowers also mount directly on top of the engine soaking up large amounts of heat while creating heat from the compression of the air. With a Vortech or Paxton supercharger the heat from the engine will not transfer into the head unit reducing heat soak. Less heat soak means lower intake air temperature for more efficient power. No compromises in performance are required when choosing this kit and the mounting is the simplest as well. All of the magic happens on the front of the engine so no need to remove the intake manifold, modify and cut coolant crossover pipes or mess with the fuel system either. It will require that you swap over to the proper fan clutch bracket but most engines already have the correct bracket from factory. The goal for this install is to get you from start to finish and driving in 48 hours. No cutting, welding or modifying the front water bridge required. No compromises in comfort either. This kit is A/C friendly.

All the components were made with A/C in mind (vvti engines may need to make a new a/c line to go around the supercharger bracket and head unit). If you are not running A/C all of the components will be provided for a non A/C setup. This is the best kit for supercharging your UZ engine. Long gone are the days of 20 year old blowers mounted on top of your engine. With a wide range of mountable blowers you can easily find the right blower to support your power goals. No need to break the bank either as this is the most cost effective form of boost beating even budget turbo setups. Light weight, no heat soak, high belt wrap, easy install, well priced, built with high quality components and precision makes the Adapt Lab solution the right solution.

  • Fits non-vvti 1UZ, 2UZ, and vvti 1UZ, 2UZ, 3UZ engines
  • ***This kit is to be used in the Lexus Sc400 or any vehicle where your UZ has more room in front of engine and no room on the side of the engine due to chassis constraints please use this bracket (Trucks and SUV’s with UZ engines most likely need this bracket). This specific kit allows you to low mount the blower and not have to move your oem fuse box in the SC400. You may still run into clearance issues with your radiator fans when creating an intake for the blower. Move your fans for best fitment. Battery relocation may be a possibility to accommodate the intake and the blowers volute.***
  • This bracket supports the following Vortech model superchargers: V1, V2, V3, V4, V7. MUST BE A COUNTERCLOCKWISE UNIT (CCW) this will not work with CW rotation blowers.
  • This bracket supports the following Paxton model superchargers: Novi 1200, Novi 1200SL, Novi 1220, Novi 1220SL, Novi 1500, Novi 1500SL, Novi 2200, Novi 2200SL, Novi 2200X. MUST BE A COUNTERCLOCKWISE       UNIT (CCW) this will not work with CW rotation blowers.
  • This kit includes the supercharger bracket, bracket spacers, blower spacers, studs, washers, nuts, pulleys, idlers and bolts.
  • Belt wrap will range between 220-240 degrees depending on pulley size and idler position (idler position matrix will be provided for best wrap on specific pulleys).
  • Requires the use of the fan clutch bracket. This supercharger kit will NOT bolt on with the hydraulic pump bracket found on some 1UZ engines. ***WE DO HAVE a drop down menu where you can purchase the necessary fan bracket and pulley required to bolt on this supercharger kit. Drop down menu can be found back at the top of the page.***
  • This kit supports usage with an A/C compressor or without it. ***Be advised*** Some vvti model vehicles have an a/c line that may interfere with the supercharger bracket itself. A custom a/c line may be required.
  • This kit is designed to be used with a 6-rib supercharger drive pulley. It can be used with an eight rib or ten rib pulleys but only in the smallest size (2.5-2.6 inch). There are some in-between sizes that may suit your boost target better, but we advise staying with the 6 rib pulleys. (https://vortechsuperchargers.com/products/copy-of-s-c-pulley-6- rib srsltid=AfmBOooHQJ6wmta8PHabQ4e2ceVtW- uFNKYsYS3lbRbr0FHgmUZH1z9x)
  • For the individuals running stock distributors, there is an additional bracket that can be purchased to properly hold the ignition coil since that bracket will have to be eliminated. We have a bracket for the MSD ignition coil #8226 which is a part of our kit for non vvti 1UZ engines and the Oem ignition coil as well. This can be found in a drop down menu at the top of the page.
  • Depending on pulley size this kit may require you to cut a relief on the engine’s cam covers. For the 1uz non vvti you will need to clearance the plastic lower and upper cam covers. For vvti engines you may either need to remove the metal cam cover to not hit the supercharger pulley or cut a relief for clearance. Attempting to use an 8 or 10 rib pulley will make this worse. If you plan on running more boost later (which requires a smaller pulley) I would advise not cutting the vvti cover as you may end up creating the clearance you need later.
  • The provided spacers MUST BE USED as instructed or you risk tossing the belt off and causing damage. The supplied Dorman idler pulleys MUST BE USED as well. These idlers were specifically selected as a control variable for belt alignment.
  • The supercharger pulley must be setup to where the ribs are closest to the blower. Incorrectly mounting the pulley will mean the ribs will not match the alignment of the engine when using the supercharger spacers.
  • SERPENTINE BELT SIZE: Belt size for this kit is ranging between 102-106 inches with the use of 2.87″-3.8″ pulleys (interpolate belt size if you are not using these pulley sizes). It is a good idea that you consider changing belt size to always have the shortest belt possible. The less belt there is the less belt there is to stretch.

Basic mouse that works - - for now.
Size: 1 Pack, Style: USB Receiver, Color: Blue
I ordered this mouse (in blue) to replace the recently deceased exact same model that I've used for the past 2 or 3 years. I like the simplicity of the M185 mouse and mostly the best bang for your buck! I caught this one on sale for less than a ten-spot, so I thought, "why not." I'm hoping that this one will last a bit longer than my two previous M185 models, that averaged about 3 years each. This model seems plagued by a short life span and is predisposed to mysteriously and suddenly dying, without any obvious symptoms or warning of any kind - - you're working and clicking along, going about your day, when suddenly the cursor on the computer screen freezes and that's it. Nothing, zero, nada. Funny thing, I'm very careful not to abuse or drop the mouse, and keep a fresh battery installed and watch for leakage and all that stuff - - they just stop working, and I assume it is caused by some sort of inherent electronic fault in the circuitry of the previous M185's. Due to my loyalty to the brand and model (and since it was on sale) I decided to give it one more shot. They say that "third time's a charm". I like the fact that the M185 is simple and uncluttered with extra buttons that I would never use for my purpose, which is simple web-browsing and the occasional text document production. The feel is solid, not heavy, but not cheap feeling, either. I'm used to the shape of this mouse, which to me is quite comfortable for long sessions, another reason why I kind of wanted to stay with this model. The buttons have an audible "click", which doesn't bother me at all, and the wheel moves smoothly and also has a clicking operation (which I rarely ever use). The overall surface of the mouse has a matte finish, but like my previous models I'm sure it will eventually wear shiny spots where my fingers reside and will attain a more "well-used" look in time. Connecting it was a breeze, too. I just plugged the dongle into a spare rear usb port of my desktop, and the mouse connected instantly, no problem. The dongle can be stored safely inside the battery compartment, so you can take the whole thing out of the house if needed for use elsewhere. The speed of 1000 dpi seems just right for my purposes. The one I ordered even came with its own AA Duracell battery, which I wasn't really expecting. This mouse also enters "sleep mode" when you don't use it for a while, and I can't say how many times I've got up and left it on all night. And that's not hard to do, as I'll explain next. The only real negative to this mouse is the absence of any easily visible status indicator of it's on / off switch. The rear housing of this mouse is matte black, including the tiny switch where you turn it on and off with your fingernail, with only a very faint "on" lettering (also black), and very hard to see with my aging eyes. The laser is not lighted or visible when on, also adding to the confusion, especially in a darkened room. So, as a workaround, I took a tiny drop of green paint and placed it down inside the switch slider to visibly help indicate the "on" position, and likewise a dot of bright orange for the "off" position. Many of Logitech's more expensive models (and a few other manufacturers) include this color-coded switch indication. I guess for the $$, they had to cut corners somewhere - - a minor complaint. In summary, this is a good basic mouse that works - - let's hope that this one will last longer than its two predecessors.

My favorite mouse ever
Style: Right-Handed, Pattern Name: Mouse, Color: Off White
I'm very particular when it comes to mice. It has to be: - quiet click and scroll - scroll wheel, not track ball - bluetooth - vertical - real battery, NOT rechargeable There are actually several mice that fit all those criteria, and I've tried nearly all. This Logitech is double the price of most of the others, but for me well worth it. Prior to this I used the Mojo which is about half the price, and that mouse is probably my 2nd favorite but it is a distant second. Compared to the Mojo and others, this mouse has more precise movement, smoother scrolling, and more reliable clicks. Because of the vertical orientation, my finger tends to click diagonally downward with gravity instead of fully horizontal in line with the intended click direction. That causes the Mojo to sometimes miss my clicks, forcing me to constrain my finger direction more carefully, often requiring several tries just to click something. But this Logitech has no such issue, it's very responsive every time even with my sloppy clicks. So while I used to think the Mojo was the best I could find given my requirements, this Logitech is clearly better. When I spend all day at the computer, these minor things make a big difference to me, therefore well worth the extra money. Also want to mention I'm 6' 4" tall and the size of this mouse is fine for me. It is a little smaller than some others, but it feels fine in my hand, it's not abnormally tiny or anything. I was concerned because the description says it's intended for smaller hands and suggested I should get their larger MX Vertical model instead. I would have considered it but the MX Vertical has a rechargeable battery which is a deal-breaker for me. What's my beef with rechargeable batteries? Earlier I had the Seenda vertical mouse but its rechargeable battery died after a year, unable to recharge, so I figured it was a fluke and bought another, and same thing happened after a few months. So after that I switched to replaceable batteries and never looked back. Replaceable batteries last forever (well, they only last a year too, but then you just replace the battery!). I've been very happy using replaceable batteries, way more reliable and durable, because all rechargeables die eventually, and it is easier to replace a battery than an entire mouse! So in summary, if you're price sensitive you could get a usable vertical mouse for less. But if you're OK to spend a little more for a tool you might well use all day for years, then this one is totally worth it IMO.

Don't Delay - Get One
Style: Right-Handed, Pattern Name: Mouse, Color: Graphite
Make sure you get the right size - I got the Small/Med. Perfect fit. Have had tennis elbow for years and the computer use exacerbated the issue. Very comfortable, great fit. The best position for your hand is in the upright position. Would recommend one for everyone. Good, solid mouse.

Bad auto driver install. Great mouse. Few of the left hand mfgs.
Style: Left-Handed, Pattern Name: Mouse, Color: Graphite
Really crappy auto driver install. Locked up my USB ports for my usb keyboard, usb mouse, all usb ports in fact. Had to reboot multiple times with an old style 5pin keyboard since the software screwed up my usb ports. All of them. Lucky I have a motherboard with an old style keyboard port. A reboot of W11 in safe mode, ripped out auto-installed software, registry keys and rebooted to regain control of my USB ports. I do not know what went wrong. Alls I know is Logitech loaded something, it locked up my USB ports and I had to rip everything Logitech out to get control again. I downloaded the software, installed it and it worked fine. I've had no problems since. I'm an old lefty and as such am ambidextrous in most areas, since there just was not left handed oriented items readily available. You had to have left handed stuff made so you learned to do things right handed. I've developed carpal tunnel in both elbows and had purchased a couple of vertical mice, one left and one right. I took the left into work and was looking for a replacement. My other two were around $30 ea. I liked the right handed vertical mouse (Anker). They do not make a left handed version. The left handed mouse is ok, not as good as the Anker. I decided to go above my spend tolerance and get the Logi after reading many reviews. It has not disappointed me. The auto-install sucked. Never letting that happen again. It is a nice smooth mouse. Fine movements that are easily adjustable. The hand position is excellent. I can use this all day without switching to the right because of elbow pain. If you have the pain, you know what I am talking about when it flares. It takes some getting used to the subtlety of the clicks when coming from lower cost mice. Soft and gently like a newborn's .... One of my big criteria for a vertical mouse is a landing area for the outer two fingers (pinky and next to pinky for finger orientation challenged). When you go to a vertical mouse, it takes some adjustment to moving the mouse since you can't really press down with your palm and inside two fingers (the ones next to the outside two fingers). It is helpful to be able to use the two outer fingers and thumb to aid in moving the mouse. You have to experience a vertical mouse to understand. The right handed only Anker goes from an inch to a half inch in the length of my pinky below the buttons on the side. This is a really nice landing area for the outside fingers to assist moving the mouse around. You can squeeze a little and the mouse glides. The Logi mouse is a wee shorter than the Anker and the area below the buttons in a mostly straight 3/4". Both mice curve quickly down to the inside below this area. I was used to a vertical mouse by the time I purchased the Logi and I have no issues with the pinky dragging the table and the finger next to pinky resting on the landing. I move the mouse with no problems. It is the subtlety of how one interacts with these style of mice. The big plus, takes a long time before mouse use causes pain flareups. And this isn't just a pain and done. Depending on how one ignores the pain, often determines how many days life sucks. The Logi mouse minimizes the flare ups. I'm thinking of taking the Anker in and getting a right handed Logi for home. I like the Anker, I'm frugal and highly recommend it for getting your feet wet. I love the Logi (auto-install sucks) and will probably ignore my frugal tendencies and get a right handed one since I don't switch hands as frequently with the Logi in the mix. Don't have to suffer auto-install either.
